(Aust Foreshore)
Aust is a very popular location for collecting fossils and because of this high competition together with a recent lack of fresh cliff falls, very few blocks of the Triassic bone bearing beds can be seen. The beds are too high to reach and cliff falls are relied upon. HOWEVER Collecting is best done by the good old back aching way of crawling around the foreshore.

The Red Marls are unfossilferous, so there is no point in searching within this layer, right at the top of the base of the Lower Lias and it is between these two layers that the bone baring Westbury Formation lays.
